More About Harley …

Harley de Vos is an endorsed sport psychologist who earned registration as a psychologist after completing his post-graduate studies in psychology through the Master of Applied Psychology (Sport Psychology) program at Victoria University. Harley is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a previous committee member for the Victorian Branch of the College of Sport and Exercise Psychology (CoSEP).

Harley is incredibly passionate about sport and has great knowledge about a lot of sports. This means that he can talk with his clients using the language of their sport. Although he has a passion for all sports, the sports that Harley is most passionate about include cricket, AFL, tennis, soccer/football, and motorsports. Harley also has a great passion for working with non-athlete high performers, including military personnel, firefighters and emergency first responders, and medical practitioners. His passion and understanding of sport and performance settings mean that Harley is a highly valued member of the Condor Performance team.

Harley is an avid traveller, having travelled to over 50 countries. Combining his love of sport and travel, Harley has been fortunate enough to see amazing sporting events all over the world. From Boca Juniors play in Buenos Aires to seeing Lionel Messi score in the Champions League at Camp Nou, from ice hockey in Helsinki (Finland) to World Cup cricket at Lord’s, Harley has seen it all.

Harley moved to Canberra in 2020 where he is undertaking a PhD in sport psychology through the University of Newcastle (UON) at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Experience As A Psychologist

Harley has extensive experience working in sport and performance settings, and he has worked with male and female athletes from a range of team and individual sports. These include but are not limited to AFL, cricket, golf, tennis, martial arts, basketball, and gymnastics, to name the most recent. Harley was a performance psychologist at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games where he worked with the Australian Weightlifting Team. He has also been previously employed in a variety of ways that have seen him work with coaches and staff. This experience was enough to give him an opportunity to join the Condor Performance team in 2019.

In September 2021 Harley de Vos was approved by AHPRA to use the title of “sport psychologist” after successfully undertaking and completing his entire registrar program in sport and exercise psychology with Condor Performance with the legendary sport psychologist Gareth J. Mole and Bradman-esque performance psychologist David Barracosa as his supervisors.
